The first snow of the season!

Isabell's first attempt at trying to catch snow flakes on her tounge. Mommy had just showed her how.

Today was the first snow of the season, and I'm super excited. Up until about my 8th grade year snow was a rare occurence for Onalaska, and if it did ever snow there was barely an inch on the ground. Oh and rarely was it ever in the month of December. During that month snow for me was frost. But almost every year after my 8th grade we had a couple of inches each year, at least in December. Each year the snow started earlier and earlier. One year it even snowed near Thanksgiving. The point I'm trying to get at, is that to just start snowing now, is a little late to what I'm used to. But I'm happy it's here.

Since this morning the snow has been playing a little teasing game. It would start to snow but it only lasted for about a minute and it was the teeniest tiniest amount. The snow kept doing this all afternoon up until about 3 and then the real flakes came down. I wanted to call everyone I knew about this exciting weather event. But I didn't. At first I was afraid it wasn't going to stick but after about an hour or so the ground (parking lot of our apartments) had a thin blanket of snow. Once it started snowing harder Isabell and I went out to play for a couple of minutes and I took some pictures.
